  1. In Topic: I need some advice

Just a quick update on my situation and possible help for anyone else who is going through the same situation/processes it can be quite daunting... Its been about three months.

My first conversation with the ACC advocate/lawyer?? I said cant afford lawyer fees on top of paying my mortgage and raising my children and iv been up front about that from the start.
I know on there website it stats that any fees they incur can be taken out of any settlement, what happens if their is no settlement??

Basically he explained the situation like this "ACC has slammed the door on my face before i have even had a chance to knock on it??"

Anyways my initial conversation with him, he asked me to speak to my GP and get some sort letter/notes explaining my injury even though my GP dose not specialize in hand injuries just his opinion.
and he said they would take it from there??

About two weeks later i received a phone call from FairWay Resolution Limited stating, they were appointed by ACC to review my case and a date has been set for July 2019
at some stage after that a women phoned/e.mail me introducing herself as my case manager. saying she had booked an appointment with a hand specialist/doctor in early May 2019 and it would cost $1090.00

I explained to her that i cant afford $1090.00 she said ACC would cover the cost of the consultation as long as ACC receives a copy of the report form the hand specialist
which i agreed to,i have nothing to hide.

Does anyone have any experience with ACC Advocates and how they get payed ??? for me personally this is not about money.
