"ACC’s claims liability is the total amount it needs to have in assets or investments now, in order to meet the future costs of claims on its books.
Put simply, when someone is injured, ACC needs to put aside enough money now to pay for all the treatment and rehabilitation they need, for as long as they will need it. This means our children won’t have to find the money in the future to pay for injuries that occur now. In most cases, it only relates to moderate to serious injuries, where help will be needed for more than one year. "
ROFLMAO........'They' are so busy trying to fend us off and make everything slip into our too hard baskets so they can look good by withholding the simplest of entitlements....they would have absolutely no idea what any long term liability would be.
What a joke.....they have no idea what or if we are entitled and from that premise on , they go about making sure we get as little as possible.
When the medical pracitioners tell them we need assistance.....they send some under educated idiot to second guess the expert to minimise the amount they pay out.
Whose figures do they use and where did they get those figures from.....out of the air where it seems a lot of shuffle is going on lately?
Hangon to your hats pals, it looks like a bumpy road ahead.
sigh......Gloria

So John judge and nick Smith is working at making this possible again.
Remember that Catalyst had an agreement that ACC that any debt or liabilities would be covered by ACC.

I thought the extra years tacked on till 2019 meant ACC didnt have to be self funding until then.
Self funding meaning that each dollar earned, whether by Levy or investment, should be enough to service all injuries including long term?!!
Of course ACC as we know it would have changed greatly by then, so I wonder who will own what??

My ACC claims were managed by WorkAon from July 2007 to approx sometime in 2001/2002. I do not believe that I got my legal rights with regards to ACC Reviews.
WorkAon cut my ERC first by refusing to accept my new ACC Medical Certificate. Then second, several threats were made to cut my already cut ERC. Finally, ACC said if I failed to comply on a certain date they would cut my ERC!
I was only allowed to Review the final threat to cut my ERC (which was already cut).
Obviously the above comment "appeal rights would be unchanged" is incorrect - unless ACC is in the habit of denying people their legal review rights!!

Thanks people [thanks also to nodrsl for pointing me to this thread]
Val Jamieson - Service Delivery
Branch manager Auckland during the 90's
was Branch Manager Catalyst Injury Management Takapuna
was Branch Manager LTCU Takapuna
and here she is again, after all this time.
I can understand why ACC won't let her go, she's done a lot of dirty work for them including destroying claimants files before their use-by dates
ACC are going back to exactly what they were doing between 1999 and 2003 - unum style gaslighting tactics
Surprized not to see AON involved .... or are they?
