Hello I am a new fan of this great site.

I am very worried as to the choice of Drs acc has supplied me with to choose two out of.

I have weeded them down to two remaining ones that I can't find any bad reviews on this site, they are

Johnathon wright

and David Hartshorn ???

Please tell me either of these guys can be trusted as I have to send this back and am the end of my tether!!!

are you in the South Island puck? I think Dr Wright is genuinely independent. I recall something about a 2 hr assessment but I am a bit vague on it. Hang in mate someone will correct me and give you a better picture on the morrow.

If it is for IA, then Dr Biggs is ok.

How do I go about suggesting these other drs when they are not on my list?

I am so shocked at how crooked these guys are that we go to it feels like lambs to the slaughter

Why have these people not been exposed for their rotten actions!

A good investigator should get hold of these claims and make mince meat out of them and ACC then we might get a fair system.

It feels so good to have this forum to help me.

Yes I am in Christchurch

I had a work place accident two years ago.

I had surgery to my back and suffer badly with pain in my spine.

I do want to get back to my job but as yet it seems impossible to do a physical job like mine or even a light physical job.

Yet my case manager dosen't seem to understand my plight at all.

Ask your case manager for a full list of assessors in your area. And tell them you wish to involve your GP with your choice of assessor. And ask in writing.

Get cheeky. Ring the two Drs mentioned in above posts, and ask when they can give you a appointment for your IMA.

Then update your IRP to include your IMA and state the Dr who will carry out the assessment, and the date.

Often ACC will tell you the good Drs have no time to see you, keep the pricks honest, give the Drs a call.

Remember to take letters from GP telling the assessor your problems, and further treatment your GP or specialist recomends.

hi puck yes stay clear of wright hes an acc favourite..i saw him several years ago out at the wycola medical centre in chch,he was a g.p. in those days but very pro acc..i complained to my case manager about him but as usual nothing done..he was telling them what they wanted to hear and as we all know they lap it up.

I am going to recommend this site to all and sundry i know of in the same boat, as we all sit around like scared mice while

the corporation obviosly employs RATS!!!

Before I tell you what you need to do to move on I need from you what is the object of your Vocational Rehabilitation. It will be either maintaining work, obtaining work, or something claiming to see if you are independent and there fore not entitled to compensation.

yes puck they are the scum of the earth..especially the long term claimants unit out at northwood..as you will know they have there favourite toadie doctors...schousboe,floyd,murray,turner,just a few who come to mind in chch,give this lot a wide berth and always take a witness cause they will lie to justify there decision on you.good luck.

It will show that you need experance or training.

So I list here the newest case law, that I know of to help at Review or Appeal.

Get a copy of this and keep it safe in case it is needed for Review or Appeal.

Any news I hear regarding the outcome I will post up here.

Jocko you are a real hard case.

I just love your humour mate good on you.

Dr's Walton & Inglis did the surgery and no I haven't read the report but will make it my mission this coming business week to get a copy of it.

Puck, I see Dr Inglis did your surgery. I knew someone on ACC (approx 20 years ago) who had surgery done by Dr Inglis. At the initial Consultation a limited procedure was agreed to by ACC claimant.
Patient got pre-med at hospital and surgeon (Mr Inglis) showed the person her x-rays and said (for the millionth time) that she needed a spinal fusion. He asked patient to sign agreeing to this, she signed the forms and got surgery she was not initially willing to have done.
Surgery not 100% successful and person in a lot of pain - ACC paid for a car, home help, and 3 years university study.

I am repeating this accurately to the best of my memory (over 20 years old). Claimant believed ACC very helpful to her because of Mr Inglis actions e.g. under pre-med, asked to agree to surgery previously refused, signed and surgery not entirely successful.

Starts to sound like deja vu.

Grahm Inglis is an ACC toady of the highest degree.
He told me after hearing that I had fallen 7 feet off a ladder and landed on the concrete floor, " Since ACC came into existence everyone blames an accident for their condition".I guess things just happen and you get a spinal injury for nothing does it??
But I would say this jerk has received a lot of dosh/lolly from ACC over the past 20 years!! Costs a lot to drive a porsche.
