Hi there,

Does anyone know anything of Dr Geetha Willamune please?

She will be assessing my application for an Independence Allowance shortly.

Hi, I know nothing about this lady, but here is some good advice.
When you go for th e independence allowance, you can be sure that ACC Will not send all the relevant info on your case.
So it is up to you to take along all the info you have regarding Specialist and GP reports
I know of someone who assumed ACC would send all the relevant reports and they didnt .This person missed out an d it took months to get their rightful IA.
Please take a witness/support person with you as well.
A good hint dont rush in there like a spring chicken either!

Thanks Sparrow.

Well fortunately I'm no "spring chicken" - maybe 'a bit chicken' but will manage I hope.

Thanks for the good advice, it's appreciated.
I have been considering postponement of the interview for exactly that reason - to get the relevant information together for such an interview.
Unsure what entitlements one has with regards to postponements of appointments, so will be making an enquiry about that shortly. I'm finding the whole idea a bit stressful, ironically.

Yes, best to go in as prepared as possible, and I will be accompanied by a witness.

Thanks again for your reply,
Echo

I saw her last June (2010) . . . found her ok. She didn't make me dredge up all the past stuff as she said it was all in my file. I found her to be respectful towards me.

I had an assessment with this woman, it was disgusting - watch out for her, she is WELL KNOWN for giving assessments in dirty, small, untidy
motel rooms with nowhere to sit but the edge of a bed like I did!

I have heard the same things and from a person well-placed to say so, the recommendation was not suitable, with no reasns why, except not suitable and spoken with some firmness.
