:o Has anyone seen the Christchurch Press article on P.2 this morning?

Headed up "Nasal enemas get blown off course", David Rankin ACC Medical Director has his say about the nasal experiment. Funny, eh, he has called off the nasal bit saying " it was called off because a medical treatment is not an aprropriate part of a work preparation programme". Perhaps a few other things are not a part of a work prep programme either?!!!

He then goes on to justify this disgusting work prep stuff by saying "Work prep programmes were extremely succesful". They ARE NOT SUCCESFUL TO THE CLAIMANT, it is just that they are booted off cos they are deemed work ready perhaps???? He says 65% found jobs within 3 months. How many were back on ACC within 3 months cos of another injury or paid a visit toWINZ???

Now for the best bit: Rankin is reported as saying "PEOPLE WITH SERIOUS INJURIES GET INTO THE HABIT OF WATCHING TV ALL DAY, GETTING UP AT MIDDAY AND LOSE THE ROUTINE, LOSE SOME OF THEIR SELF PRESENTATION SKILLS. THIS COURSE IS STRUCTURED TO GET PEOPLE OUT OF BED PRESENTING AT 9 O'CLOCK EVERY MORNING AND ORGANISING THEIR TRANSPORT."

Perhaps Rankin should really find out what happens in the life of an ACC claimant with a serious injuiry??

The ACC do not care about returning you to some of your former health by giving you Social Rehabilitation, Medical intervention and therapy as directed by your Primary carer, looking at your needs for everyday living and giving you a stress free life which as we all know, the STRESS of dealing with these sods, is the biggest factor in our lives.!!!!!!

As long as this guy is at the helm, there is no hope for any of us, we will all be forced to go out and pick up feathers off the street or, as one claimant was told, "Have an out of body experience" and another, "think of sexy lingerie"! They are getting desperate eh!!

Comments please as to how we deal with this guy. Anyone know his email address??

Perhaps he should be told of the lies and fraud committed every day by Case Managers whose aim in life is a wee bonus???

Cheers! :)

Is there any way that we can get some questions that will address facts asked in the house.

any one got a spare TV that goes (will swap for one that stopped a couple of years back. its about 30 years old so will cost a packet to get going. at least its good fpr puttung computer screan on)

may be should ask ACC for one as radkin says tat serious injuried andlong term claimants just watch TV.

wonder what a judge in the high court will say that a TV is part pf rehabilitation and Radkin say so.

Doppelganger

Going to atack the week.
