Found this today on parliamentary website...

Quote

Petition 2005/44 of Susan Elizabeth Nicholson  (11 May 2006)
requesting that the House inquire into the claims management practices of the Accident Compensation Corporation and its subsidiary companies. (presented by Judy Turner)
(referred to the Transport and Industrial Relations Committee)

So, finally it has been recorded.

For other politically challenged individuals like myself ... who is Judy Turner?

Because the transport and Industrial relations select committee has ACC as part of their brief. So what will happen to this one??? Will it be swept under the carpet also?

Our political class has no interest in remedying ACC's abuses of disabled citizens because our political class is owned by our bureaucratic and commercial elite. Disabled citizens are non-productive units, therefore have no rights. The only way to change this is elect political reprentatives who account to the people, not the fat cats.

Perhaps the forum could form its own political party before the next election...if nothing else it will get some attention...like the pro smoking party :) except ACC forum has a better cause! There are a lot of talented, smart, gutsy individuals on this site...woohoo lets send them to parliament!

I like the idea chrissy.

but

as i right letters and read there replies it would be like going back to a time to pre kindy. most of us that are on this forum do not have the tallent to be there and that is to be quite and lie.

long term case managers would be experts at the position and doing very little is right up to there present job.

But kindy was sooooooooooooo much fun! Surely not all politicians have to lie, but the idea was really just to set up a party to bring to light the issues that members from this site and other ACC 'victims' have had to deal with. An anti-oppressive ACC party would certainly draw some media attention, make a few ministers uncomfortable...and perhaps have the McGreasys of this world squirming in their seats! Not sure what it costs to register a political party but I am sure that it would cost far less than the media coverage it is worth. I know one or two on this site who have the 'gift' of the gab....but unlike some politicians they only speak the truth...and you know who you are guys....we need someone used to public speaking....hmmmmmmmmmm wonder where we could find someone who fits that description? Perhaps they could call me :D

Hi all,

In Aussie they just passed a law decriminalising polititians lying to select committees etc.

Now it is legal to lie.

I shake my head and have no words....don't know what the heck the world is coming to....its dog eat dog for sure and the biggest liar wins it would appear,

Gloria.

Scoop doesn't seem to report on answers to the Question of the day.
Interesting comment from dear Ruthie wed. was about "injury benefit".
When I checked the uncorrected version on the clerks site I note
these words were missing. Whether it was corrected by her during her answer, I :D didn't hear.

Obviously the $7,700 worth of ACC supplied hearing aids are not quite
turned in. Time to return for a updated model at ACC expence. :P :P

Scoop is now on the ball. One wonders whom reads and gains
expert opinions from here.

have always wondered why the news media don't come to us for our comments/ right of reply when ruth and mccreepy issue press releases?

do the news media think we're all bludgers or something?

Dear News Media Reporter or Editor

If you ever find yourself needing help from the acc and then suffering all the indigities and slandour etc that all of us have had to endure, then please, don't come onto this website and cry about your acc problems!

You all love reporting on the crap Dyson and others want you to report on, but were is our side to the issues?

Only the SUNDAY STAR TIMES attempted to air our issues, but they endured all sort of crap from the ACC and Dyson in doing so!

STAND UP and report on current issues ... like the issues which are all clearly outlined in the accforum.org

All these issues are direct from the horses mouth so to speak ... people who have had first hand experiance with the acc scams, Dyson and McGreevy only speak on hearsay stuff, second hand stuff, our forums contain the real deal, no farting or pussey footing around ...

But do I ever see any of the NZ Media make reference to the accforum.org website ...
