This is interesting,

In August 2005, the New Zealand Orthopaedic Asscociation copied a set of guidelines from the US. What this means is that they now have a code of practise for all "Fellows" or orthopaedic surgeons to follow.

Again, not much recourse, but it is another professional standard that must be complied with:

Hi All

The New Zealand Orthopaedic Association has some interesting things in the "login" section...

They "endorse" a US site called: eorthopod, it is quite good in many ways. The NZOA tells doctors that if they want to include a weblink so that patients know what procedures should be done, the doctor should include a link to this site.
