WPI = Whole Person Impairement which is what equates to $$$$ for your impairment.

Your injury will be set out in the AMA Guides so you can follow the Range of Motion guides etc to get to 'degrees' which are then changed into %.

I had a letter from my Orthopedic Surgeon who explained some of the principle of this being the closest they can get to anything that even looks suitable. Although I think it is mighty unfair as it does not take 'loss of strength' into account. You might be able to do things with one leg missing or even two but try doing much with two arms with massive loss of strength and limited range of motion.

Thank god the operations took again a lot of the pain.

Potting plants is even a struggle.

Anyhow mustnt groan as am still here.

Afternoon Mini darrell my injuries sensitive claim for sexual abuse & physical claim for my left knee which i have had a successful operation on. When acc assessed my sensitive claim i came in at 15% whole person impairment but the wankers apportioned 10% off which is not allowed as acc reckons it is my left knee is more complicated. When you look at it from an angle grade 4 quadriceps weakness which is supported by 3 independent orthopaedic specialists including the specialist who did the operation. Even the specialist is pissed off with those bastards called acc for not doing enough to help me. I can tell you now that all acc do is sit on there arses e-mailing there other halves for a decent bloody shag no wonder we get nowhere.

My left knee is lower extremity, grade4 quadriceps weakness , manual muscle testing 5% + 5% =10%

My only other option is to take time out of the busy schedule to learn how to do it rather than researching the issues at hand. Would be a shame to waste such talent eh??

i am going through the review process at the moment and have a review hearing set next month, the assessor Dr Tanner was given 8 assessments to do over a 2 day period due to no assessors available in the region i live, she defamed in the report and then her apportionment was taken from the accounts of my first assessor who i saw five years prior, the first report which awarded me a 65% WPI and apportioned 30% i was told was outdated and because i disagreed and reviewed Dr Reeves also i knew not 2 reiterate anything she had apportioned me for in my assesssment. my syptoms for PTSD had gotten alot worse and i saw a Dr who agreed however Dr Tanners reassesment for WPI was 35% apportioned to 20% therfore is in direct conflict with the Dr who filed the ACC 554. she did not read any previous reports and saw me for a 1 hour interview

I feel compassionate towards people who have experienced a battle with acc to get correct entitlement. my first time around i was weak and emotionally upset with the outcome, i had suffered extensive subsequent acts of sexual abuse from an early age right up until i become an adult from various offenders and felt utterly abused by the corporation who in my mind made the process a no win situation at review stage.

I too feel that i had intrusted the assessors with my deepest childhood secrets and as professionals and being experienced that they would produce an outcome that would reflect my suffering. Does anyone know the best way to go about my review this time??

just one way is to have another assessment with your current provider. Your current provider if you have one is more able to give a more accurate report as the length of time spent with your current provider is a lot more than i hour.

When your provider made out the application she/he was claiming that there was a increase in incapacity. this was at least 10% above the previous assessment.

Your current provider can probably pull apart the assessors report so ask your provider if everything was completed right. Don't forget to have mention that some of the increase is directly due to the ACC and case management culture.
