MY WIFE HAS JUST RECEIVED LETTER FROM ACC THREATENING HER WITH BEING TAKEN OF ACC BECAUSE WE FOSTER A BOY WITH CYFS
IS THIS A NEW WAY OF EXITING DREAMED UP BY ACC
DOES THIS MEAN ALL FOSTERCARE PARENTS CAN'T CLAIM A.C.C.
JUST A START IF ACC CAN GET AWAY WITH IT WHAT OTHER GOV. DEP. NEXT
CAN'T CLAIM SICKNESS OR INVALIDS BENIFITS WHILE FOSTERING
IF FOSTER MUM'S NOT CAPABLE OF LOOKING FOSTER KIDS THEY CAN'T BE ALSO
THEIR OWN OR IN OUR CASE GRANDCHILDREN ALSO GOING BY ACC'S REASONING
CAN MOTHERS NOW ON ACC CLAIM 24 HOUR CHILD CARE
AS THE LETTER OPENS UP A LOT OF ?
LIKE SOME FEEDBACK

As you get paid to look after a foster child, it can be preceived that if capabile of looking after a foster child you can then be deemed to be capable of working. You may have to consult a specialist ACC lawyer such as Peter Sara and ask his advise. Some others on the forum may have better advice.

GREETINGS,
I have full custody and guardianship of my 6 y.o. grandson...
He recieves, (I do) unsupported child benefit from WINZ...
No different to fostercare.
I would question the "Legality" of any ACC decision to cut ERC based on care of a child.

NEXT they will be saying if you have children, or children in your care, any age.
no entitlement to ERC...

Hi Station, I think you will find you are not earning for foster care, all you are getting is reimbursement which means(refund, repay, compensate.) Tell them to get stuffed.

 Hi Station - The sum of money you receive for the foster care of this young child, should not be any different than a family (or parent) who receives any form of subsidy (or make-up pay) from the govt. What a load of crap.
This is a try on surely. Probably some uninformed Case Manager who is after a bonus payout themselves - get you off the books so they can get a bonus ! Make sure you get a full explanation of the reasons for this as per the Act in writing from ACC. Good Luck

You must remember that the ACc has there Stocktakein April so if figures were not as recomended by head office them a few extra will be extied.

As for foster care ACC are treaig it as working and as you are being paid compensationfor loss of earnings you will have to accept that ACC are treating it as earnings.

you may have been looking after foster children before the Accident and therefore you would have included that in your earnings. the question is how many hours are you spending on fostercare?

;) Station, suggest you ring the Call centre for some advice. ring 0800 101996
These people are very helpful. Ask them what is the criteria /policy for CYFS kids.

I guess everyone recieving childcare subsidy from Govt for their young kids will also lose their ACC as well. Yes, what crap.

Your wife should be pushing them for childcare help, home help, showering and attendant care etc. This is all in the Act and is her right.
dont sign an IRP till you have advice also. they will push you into signing one after 2 weeks now.
On an IRP you put all the rehab needs. so all the above should be included on the IRP. Importantly an IRP must be prepared in consultation with the GP and any other support person. She may not return to work till the GP approves it, not the CM!!!
Dont lie down and take this from an ignorant CM.

Well that letter explains that ACC can not remove entitlements because you did not sign the declaration.
