Any number of posts on ACCforum feature genuine complaints about the ACC process yet no one mentions the ACC Complaints process which is available to ALL. It would be beneficial to all of us on ACCforum if EVERYBODY took advantage of ACC’s complaints process.
It only requires you to ring (or email [email protected]) 0800 650 222 (then option 1) and lodge your complaint. The ACC staff answering are very friendly but (be warned) they will try to talk you out of making a formal complaint. If you INSIST however the complaint must be investigated and a written decision issued. If the complaints unit notice a ‘systems problem’ they can even advise ACC to change their wrongful processes.

The benefits are, if upheld, you get your complaint remedied and where your complaint applies to other people’s cases you might help those people by bringing a systems problem to ACC’s attention.
