After a fight of over 4 years through the legal system, I got a phone call from my lawyer saying ACC had settled my case. Coincidentally the story of Turner broke in the papers a day earlier. This man was responsible for my removal of entitlement and I've fought tooth and nail ever since I heard that I had a good case against the corporation. Firstly did anyone see the article (link below) and secondly is anybody else currently dealing with him?

Good for you. I had read about the case earlier. Had Turner once but was on my side, so no problem. And was years ago. Sorry I cannot be more helpful.

I had Dr Bill Turner do a $3300 60 minute Medical Assessment on me after a Carpal Tunnel Release in 2013.

I had this man for an assessment 2009, when ACC tried to revoke my cover (in their internal memo: "due to the large cost of the surgery" I needed). His initial report was in my favour and then ACC asked him to change his viewpoint (ignoring 2 Specialists thorough examinations and evidence-based information) based on their ill-defined speculations AND HE DID. This meant I couldn't have my surgery. After 1 1/2 years of absolute torture fighting for my own rights, at a huge physical, mental and literal cost I was deemed eligible.

Astoundingly I had to do it all over again in 2017 and, because I AM entitled, after another 14 months of suffering I was once again deemed eligible - at even more cost to my well-being. Both times, the ACC showed zero remorse nor gave any apologies for their conniving, time-wasting, bullying tactics. I am a reasonably strong person, have support from family and friends, and these fights have worn me down so much that I now also suffer from depression and anxiety - I can't imagine how terrible it is for those without support. Pain from injury is enough to deal with, let alone having the organisation that you are forced by law to pay into, that you thought would support you, instead repetitively deceive and extort you.

Alan is right (in the article) - it's unfair to go on a witch hunt simply because of age or to try and reach their kpi's, when claimants (like myself) have proven time and time again that our injuries and the effects from the injuries (such as chronic pain, ptsd symptoms etc) are eligible for full support under the ACC Act. There wasn't, and still aren't are any consequences for these hatchet men (such as Bill Turner) for their illicit behaviour, such as making (quote from Judge Beattie) "a wholly speculative diagnosis that does not accord with the clinical facts" and it's just not fair!

I have tried to seek change via Fairway, the ACC Minister and the ACC Resolution Specialists but keep getting nowhere - no-one is able to take responsibility for these injustices :-( Am I bitter about this? Heck yes! And I will continue to fight for the rights of innocent, injured victims who don't have support or strength to do so themselves, because the current system means that we are literally losing lives, and that is completely unacceptable to me.
