Some fairly unusual facts in this decision by the High Court. However, many people who provide care to seriously injured claimants become close to them; this seems to be a feature of intimate activities like attendant care, which may explain why the corporations that profit from it go to such lengths to stop that closeness developing. Anyway, Brown J (a new High Court Judge) found that ACC, the reviewer, and the District Court were all wrong in their interpetation of the law providing for Attendant Care entitlements.
