Massive Fraud Unearthed at AON Zimbabwe

http://www.zimeye.or...t-aon-zimbabwe/

I understand that Leanne MacDonnell originated from Zimbabwe before emigrating to NZ (2001) to work for AON NZ Ltd.

From there she went to Catalyst and then to ACC (ACC Sales Street Auckland) where she is currently based.

ACC Sales Street in Auckland is the same branch that tried to screw Bronwyn Pullar and failed!

I was asked by [reporter] if Aon NZ Ltd had ever threatened legal action against me for publishing all the stuff that I have about them here and on the Acclaim Waikato forum site.

My answer was no, they have never contacted me regardless of the accusations I have made against them and their staff.

[Reporter] then said that most global companies, in particular of the size Aon is, would have threatened legal action by now if they had nothing to be ashamed of!

My answer to that was "Yes, that is why Aon NZ Ltd have done nothing about it. They know that what I have written is the truth!"

Was asked if ACC and or Leanne Mac Donnell have ever refuted the accusations I have made against them?

My answer was "No. They would be absolute fools if they did!"

Made my night that call did.

Aon chief executive Patrick Ryan issued an apology as part of the settlement. He acknowledged Aon “and other insurance brokers and consultants” used contingent agreements with insurance companies that created conflicts of interest.

AON - Work aOn, AON risk services nz ltd - is your injury claim with them?

word thru the grapevine says that AON claim they are not an insurance company.

The Employer accreditation program - this is where a large employer (Fonterra size) can choose their insurer, although they have to comply with the ACC Acts.

Have you been given a hard time by AOn?

Out of the horses mouth.

Quotes from Aon Discussion Paper on Private Sector Competition for Accident Compensation Insurance August 2004

Aon is New Zealand's largest insurance broker and largest specialist third
party claims administrator, in the injury management field. We have a
national office network with over 400 staff located in 28 offices. With
over 50,000 clients Aon handled insurance premiums exceeding $400
million in 2003, including 5 of the Top 10 New Zealand companies.
Workplace accident claims
are managed for 60 of New Zealand's corporate employers who are members
of the ACC Partnership
Programme (Self Insurance).

Discussion Paper
on Private Sector Competition
for Accident Compensation Insurance
August 2004 In December 2000, Aon was one of four independent
parties ACC contracted with to manage long-term
claims. Aon was very successful in exiting claims
In the 12 months to 30 June 2003, ACC only managed to exit
256 long-term tail claims, despite a target of 1,500 planned exits.
We estimate there are a further 14,000 long-term tail claims with
an unfunded liability of $1.4 billion. This is a cost employers are
funding over the next ten years through a residual premium.

Efficiency
The brief experience with privatisation demonstrated
that insurance premiums can be reduced through
competition, and, claims managed more effectively by
the private sector.
Discussion Paper on Competition for Accident Insurance
2
ACC 2003 Deficit
Budget $3.459 billion
Actual $4.252 billion
2002 Deficit
$3.636 billion
Source: ACC 2003 Annual Reporot

It is interesting to note the dramatic
decrease in accepted claims during
the one year of private insurance.
ACC's own statistics show that both
the number and cost of claims from
that period is below what had
previously been accepted by ACC,
and considerably lower than that
managed by ACC for the past three
years.
The average cost of claims managed
by ACC continues to increase.
There are approximately 14,000 long-term tail claims managed by ACC.
Of these we estimate 7,000
are legitimate long-term claims, while others relate to individuals
who have become dependant
upon ACC as a form of welfare.

At present all costs associated with reviewing a claim decision are
the responsibility of either ACC
or the employer. There is no cost to the individual claimant. This
can lead to frivolous and vexatious
review hearings. At present review hearings incur a charge of a
pproximately $1,100 with a further
potential $2,500 being awarded in costs to the claimant seeking the
review.
Review costs should be equally shared between the insurer and the
claimant and/or a lodgement
fee charged when a review application is submitted. This is consistent
with the small claims tribunal
for civil actions.

Just as people with degenerative and age-related pain conditions
(eg. arthritis) do not have cover
under ACC, we believe, in terms of consistency, secondary pain
syndromes should also not be covered
by ACC.

 Pity help us if Brash becomes the Government and we are handed over to Organisations like this!

Note what they say about "frivolous Reviews". Nothing could be more farcial at the moment than a Review application handled by DrZL.

Long term claimants. Yep noone wants to accept that some injuries are for life. Our rights to sue were taken away for life too.

The future for the so-called Tail is very bleak indeed.

Hello? Do I hear 14,000 in the tail with an unfunded liability of 1.4 billion ? ACC claims 9.5 billion. So AON admits to doing EXITS. ALL of their EXITS should be immeditely investigated by the Serious Fraud Office.

Aon's Company Overview which is published in a post above is irrelevant (and a waste of space on this forum) due to the fact that when AON were Case Managing long term claimants injury files for ACC between 1999 and 2002 all complaints were referred to ACC Complaints etc.

Thank you.
