EXCLUSIVE: THE son of a top musician has been unmasked as this country's most prolific internet troll and is being investigated by detectives for online "stalking''.
Tristan Barker, 18, who has a track record of terrorising vulnerable members of the community, said his aim was to see how far he can push his 300,000-plus teenage internet-subscribed fans.
But frustrated Melbourne police are unable to interview him because he is in New Zealand living with his star dad, Michael Barker, a former drummer of Split Enz and John Butler Trio fame.
A News Ltd investigation has revealed recent Melbourne school leaver Tristan Barker has used internet portals Facebook and Twitter to encourage harassment and ridicule of everyone from Muslims, businesses, local and overseas celebrities, murder victims and people who have committed suicide as a result of online bullying.
As well as using his own personal Facebook, which has more than 300,000 "friends'', to push nasty crusades, Mr Barker is also a ringleader of Facebeef, a Facebook group page with 43,000 "likes''.
In an exclusive interview Mr Barker admitted to causing havoc online whilst high on "Red Bull and Ritalin''.
"I would consider myself an entertainer,'' he boasted.

The type of comments Mr Barker litters the internet with are in stark contrast to the lyrics about love and peace originating from the Aussie roots band, John Butler Trio.
Cyber safety specialist and former police officer Susan McLean said: "He would have to be Australia's most prolific troll. He has no concept of common decency and is a blight on society.''
Melbourne's Detective Senior Constable Rodney Andrew confirmed a "current investigation" focused on an online campaign Mr Barker spearheaded last year targeting Royal Hair Extensions had been launched.
It is alleged Mr Barker had his online fans harass the company's owner Melissa Meitz during a period she was running an online contest. Ms Meitz was bombarded with threatening messages.
The officer said "the offence (being investigated) is stalking, under new legislation that came in a couple of years ago ... it is a continuing investigation".
Mr Barker attained notoriety in early 2012 after trolling pop star Nicki Minaj's Facebook page with an abusive rant that attracted more than 100,000 "likes".

In another rant Mr Barker called on his followers to harass Muslim families by making prank telephone calls. He said he used White Pages to "randomly" search for a family with the Ibrahim surname and phoned them to joke a packet of bacon lay on their doorstep.
"I picked one at random," he said. "It was hilarious." Followers of Mr Barker made similar calls at his request.
Mr Barker said most of his 300,000-plus Facebook followers were youngsters and he was a celebrity in their eyes.
"I see kids follow me and I think 'how far can I rope this kid in and make them be a mockery'," he said.
Mr Barker said his celebrity father should not be held responsible to his online antics.
"My father has raised me quite well," he said.
His dad Michael paid tribute to his son's massive online fan base.
"The people that apparently read his crap on (the internet) is more than most regional newspapers," he said.

THE son of Labor's state energy spokesman has been caught posting abuse and racist tirades on his Facebook page, at one point even comparing Muslims with "dogs".
Ben Hoenig, whose father Ron - a successful barrister - succeeded former premier Kristina Keneally as the state member for Heffron in August, has written a series of threatening posts on the social media website, interspersed with photos of he and his father standing alongside Prime Minister Julia Gillard.
Despite his father being voted into Macquarie St by one of the biggest Asian populations in NSW, the 23-year-old Mr Hoenig wrote on November 6: "You know your country is f***ed when you walk into macca and wonder if you just flew to china!"
In another post, on February 13 of this year, Ben Hoenig wrote: "Hahha so police are in secret meeting with muslim leaders about criminal activity! ... i don't know if just me but that says it all right! Has anyone heard of secret meeting with coptic priest or jewish rabbis lol!
"I know we are an equal society and s*** but seriously doesnt this just blow your mind!"
Ron Hoenig's own Facebook cover photo depicts him with his son, Ben, and his wife, Christine, at a Labor gathering.
Neither Mr Hoenig nor his son responded to The Sunday Telegraph's requests for comment.
The language has outraged human rights groups, drawing the fury of anti-racism group All Together Now.
"It's totally unacceptable, there's absolutely no excuse for racism," said managing director Priscilla Brice-Weller. "It doesn't matter if it's on Facebook, on the bus or at a barbecue, there is just no room for this sort of language."
A spokeswoman for the Lebanese Muslim Association said she was shocked by the comments.
"That's inappropriate from anyone, whether the son of a politician or a plumber on the street. It doesn't matter who it comes from."

Tristan Barker, 18, is wanted for questioning by Melbourne police for encouraging his alleged 300,000 Facebook followers to ridicule people, including murder victims and some who have committed suicide as a result of online bullying. But Melbourne police are unable to interview him because he is back in Rotorua living with his dad, Michael Barker, a former drummer from bands Split Enz and the John Butler Trio.
In one of his posts, about the Colorado movie theatre shootings last year that claimed 12 lives, Tristan Barker called it a "social experiment".
"I don't give a f*** about the victims, I don't give a f*** about their families, I don't care, no one should care," he wrote on Facebook. He went on to request Americans "end themselves".
"I wanted to see if you could create disgust," he said this week.
Barker gained notoriety early last year after trolling the Facebook page of pop star Nicki Minaj with an abusive rant that attracted more than 100,000 "likes".
In another rant, Barker called on his followers to harass Muslim families by making prank telephone calls.

"There's always a group of people in society who want to do that, who don't have a way of achieving recognition in a positive way."
Cocker advised people to not engage with trolls.
Justice Minister Judith Collins is expected to outline new measures to curb cyber-bullying within the next few weeks.
The minister had earlier asked the Law Commission to fast-track a review of the laws around telecommunications and the internet.
In Australia, ex-police officer and internet commentator Susan McLean said she believed Barker was "Australia's most prolific troll".

INTERNET troll Tristan Barker has been charged by New Zealand police over an alleged assault of Today Tonight reporter David Eccleston.
The Seven Network journalist travelled to the Bay of Plenty region of Haumurana to interview Australia's most prolific troll.
He landed back in Sydney on Wednesday and was receiving medical attention.

Today Tonight executive producer John Choueifate told News Ltd his reporter had arranged to meet and interview Mr Barker.
It is alleged that he turned up and in the course of the interview, Mr Eccleston was assaulted.
"He was understandably shaken, the matter has been reported to police," Mr Choueifate said.

A New Zealand police spokesman said: "Following an allegation of assault at an address in Rotorua earlier this week an 18-year-old Rotorua man has been arrested and subsequently charged with common assault. He will appear in Rotorua District Court on March 11. As the matter is before the court police will be making no further comment."
Mr Barker's encounter with Today Tonight follows a nasty campaign against A Current Affair's host Tracey Grimshaw which saw manipulated images of the star in pornographic poses posted to the internet last year after the show began investigating the troll.
The assault allegations come as Mr Barker's father avoided being dumped from this weekend's WOMADelaide festival after publicly supporting his son's online antics.
The event's promoters ignored calls to dump The Swamp Thing from the bill, featuring Michael Barker who was the drummer for Split Enz and The John Butler Trio fame, despite his support for his son's antics online.
A spokesperson for the event said that The Swamp Thing "will be appearing at WOMADadelaide this weekend".

Tristan Barker has made international headlines for his cyber attacks.
The 18-year-old is currently wanted for questioning by Melbourne police in relation to allegations of a sustained harassment campaign against a small business owner.
Police cannot do anything until he returns from Rotorua, New Zealand where he is living with his father in the Haumurana region.
WOMADelaide's promoters had received a number of calls from concerned sponsors including Coles, but the festival has confirmed Barker's act will play this weekend.
Matters intensified with Tristan Barker using Facebook to mobilise his 300,000-plus "fans" to bombard the internet site of Austereo's Triple M with pro-Hitler messages.

Tristan Barker has made international headlines for his cyber attacks.
The 18-year-old is currently wanted for questioning by Melbourne police in relation to allegations of a sustained harassment campaign against a small business owner.
Police cannot do anything until he returns from Rotorua, New Zealand where he is living with his father in the Haumurana region.
WOMADelaide's promoters had received a number of calls from concerned sponsors including Coles, but the festival has confirmed Barker's act will play this weekend.
Matters intensified with Tristan Barker using Facebook to mobilise his 300,000-plus "fans" to bombard the internet site of Austereo's Triple M with pro-Hitler messages.

Who is Tristan Barker?
Barker, 18, has a track record of terrorising vulnerable members of the community, and has said his aim was to see how far he can push his 300,000-plus teenage internet-subscribed fans.
He has used internet portals Facebook and Twitter to encourage harassment and ridicule of everyone from Muslims, businesses, local and overseas celebrities, murder victims and people who have committed suicide as a result of online bullying.
As well as using his own personal Facebook, which has more than 300,000 "friends'', to push nasty crusades, Mr Barker is also a ringleader of Facebeef, a Facebook group page with 43,000 "likes''.
In an exclusive interview Mr Barker admitted to causing havoc online whilst high on "Red Bull and Ritalin''.

Barker gained notoriety early last year after trolling the Facebook page of pop star Nicki Minaj with an abusive rant that attracted more than 100,000 "likes".
In another rant, Barker called on his followers to harass Muslim families by making prank telephone calls.
He said he used White Pages to search for a family with the Ibrahim surname and phoned to joke a packet of bacon had been placed on the family's doorstep.
"I picked one at random," he said. "It was hilarious." Followers of Barker made similar calls at his request.
Detective Senior Constable Rodney Andrew, from Melbourne police, said their inquiry had stalled as Barker was out of the country.
Netsafe executive director Martin Cocker said it was his opinion that Barker's actions were "inciting acts of hatred".
"The internet is empowering everybody, including those who have a message we'd rather not hear," he said.
Internet trolls tried to get attention and a response from people by being as offensive and outrageous as possible, he said.
"There's always a group of people in society who want to do that, who don't have a way of achieving recognition in a positive way."
Cocker advised people to not engage with trolls.
Justice Minister Judith Collins is expected to outline new measures to curb cyber-bullying within the next few weeks.
The minister had earlier asked the Law Commission to fast-track a review of the laws around telecommunications and the internet.
In Australia, ex-police officer and internet commentator Susan McLean said she believed Barker was "Australia's most prolific troll".
"He has no concept of common decency and is a blight on society."
