this site is called Disability awareness in ACTION or DAA.
When you look at this site and see how bad things are for the diabled overseas, quite horrifying stuff too, you can be grateful it hasnt quite got that bad in NZ yet.
Theres an articlke on there though showing that nz is guilty of discrimination toward disabled immigrants, effectively discouraging anyone whos 'health' may be a drain on our economy.
well worth a look,

New Zealand's Ambassador to the United Nations, Don MacKay is chairman of the
Ad Hoc Committee on a Comprehensive and Integral

They have just fininishe their seventh meeting.

Mr MacKay included a draft convention on this as set out in his letter from the end of last year.

expected as much, what is the background of Don MacKay?

It may be difficult for the government to block the ratification of the covernent as he chaired it, it could be made quite difficult internationally politcially for them,

Not sure how much use it will be though.

Remember Helen is after a prime UN appointment when she moves on and the Human Rights aspect is going to be important area for to her protect .. She would not like international waves directed at the UN ..

 OOOOOOH what a bastard if the embarrasement of ACC stops people from getting bigger and better jobs ...

 Quite simple ... sort it out. I have bigger and better jobs to do in my life ... only problem is I have Permenant Disability given to me for my injuries sustained from a work accident ... Im struggling to survive ...

:D All I seek is assistance of medicial treatment and compensation ... the records created / produced / held by ACC to be true , accurate , factual so ACC can assist in a positive fashion and know what they are talking about ... preatty basic , simple , easy ...

I have a Disability ... any Rights Dignity is erroded by ACC...

;) Clean up your own back yard before looking in some one elses is usually a good policey ... have a great day...
