21 May 2013 - 06:45 PMFor the many of you who have had meetings at the ACC Riverside Christchurch HQ and who carry a nasty memory of a bad experience, Here is good news for you!
ACC CHRISTCHURCH OFFICE HAS BEEN BOWLED AND IS now A PILE OF RUBBLE.
It has gone where 75% of CHCH CBD buildings have gone, to the dunp!
22 April 2013 - 09:39 PM
I thank Ed Hunter for posting this link on Forum.
It shows the devastation in the CBD of Christchurch. One or two buildings out of over 700 are being reopened.
Things are starting in a small way.
A video similar to this was available on the internet some time ago and I sent the Link to an Expat friend who had lived and worked in CHCH>
He was so upset at the incredible destruction that he sent it to a Radio station owned by a prestigious Broadcasting Service, the Local Radio Station was part of a national Service.
He felt that noone overseas in the country where he now lives had any understanding of the extent of the devastation in Christchurch and the ongoing stresses..
He gave them my email address when they contacted him and after some emails I was invited to speak live on air and to answer questions from the presenter.
It was planned that this was to be broadcast LIVE and for the 10 minutes I was allocated we would discus how the EQ affected the people of CHCH. etc.
The time came and I went on air. The planned 10 minutes extended to 32 minutes and it was incredible that such a prestigious Broadcasting service would extend the time of an interview.
I was able to tell them about how the EQ affected people's lives, the devastation and mayhem it had caused, the continuous shakes and also the positve sides to it.
We discussed the opening of the Container mall and the iconic Ballantynes reopening ,among other things.
They had heard of the liquefaction but had no idea what it was and how it had affected thousands of homes and buildings that had sunk and bent and even caused some to be broken.
I was able to tell them that still some are living in apalling conditons in their sunken damp homes and even others now living in garages and caravans and even in their cars, Many still without running water and toilets.
It was a great oppotunity to tell the world how the City was coping and the residents trying to get on with their lives. We briefly touched
on the stresses of trying to get our homes repaired or even assessed properly.
The interview finished with the Presenter thanking me for giving them information regarding the city. The link to the video, similar to the one posted here was given out on air.
I had some very positve feedback and another call the next day from the Producer of the programme thanking me for givng my time to talk to them. She said the Radio station had been contacted by a number of folk.
My Expat friend listened to the programme with tears running down his face he said and he felt, so sad for the Christchurch folk and what they had been thru.
I was given the link and followed up the postings from the listeners and was touched that people were so kind in their response..
Quite a different story here in NZ from ACC forum where I have been ridiculed and insulted.
It is good to know that others care and I did it for my friends, family and fellow citizens of Christchurch.
I suggest you take a look at the link.- it is a big download but if you have Broadband it comes up quickly.
Then maybe you may not be able to say Christchurch is "lovely" !

Doctor Disaplined Unacceptable practice - HDC
A doctor who carried out an unchaperoned examination of a naked patient may face legal action.
The woman went to an after-hours clinic with a suspected urinary tract infection in August 2011.
The doctor preformed an unchaperoned examination of the patient's body that involved touching her legs, vagina, breasts and back.
She was naked from the waist down during the lower body examination and fully naked for the upper body examination.
The woman was not given any privacy to undress, nor provided with a cover.
The woman complained to the Health and Disability Commissioner Anthony Hill, who found the doctor's actions breached legal and professional standards.
The examination exceeded what was necessary in light of the woman's symptoms, which were a burning sensation while urinating and body aches, he said.
The doctor did not give the patient enough information about the examination and therefore did not obtain her informed consent.
He did not wear gloves while carrying out the intimate examination.
He failed to inform her she could have a chaperone and his manner in general lacked respect, Mr Hill said.
He also changed her clinical records, which could have interfered with the ability of others to provide a continuity of care for the patient.
Mr Hill referred the doctor to the Director of Proceedings, who will decide whether legal action will be taken.
He also directed the doctor to write an apology to the woman and undergo mentoring from a senior colleague, four times a year for the next two years, to ensure he is maintaining professional boundaries.
Has this happened to you from an ACC assessor?
I know of 3 women that were forced to undress. No nurse or chaperone available
I am posting this to show that this is totally unacceptable and anyone in this position, has the right to refuse. ACC cannot cut you off as this is totally unacceptable behaviour
I know of one ACC toady who ordered his client as she entered the room to TAKE YOUR CLOTHES OFF.
She refused. Was shown the door and a very negative report was sent to ACC.
Do not let this ever happen to you. It is going on and is totally unacceptable. You have the right to demand a chaperone to be present.
Also anyone who has the terror of having to be assessed by Du Plesis has the right to refuse his tests as he pulls a tin of pins from his pocket and uses then to test you
I heard of a person who got a serious infection from this man using unsterile pins
think of the hundreds of clients he has tested with these dirty pins from his pocket.
it is totally unacceptable and unsafe.
DO NOT EVER allow this man to use these dity pins on you
One person I know had to endure 15mins of him pricking his face all over and he was so distressed as he realised the tin of pins was unsterile!!!
This person had a very serious injury and has consequences that are still occuring but Du Plesis said in his flawed report there was nothing wrong that the person could not go back to their former job .
So in summary, if you are unsure and do not agree withthe unsafe or embarassing practice, refuse to be put thru this kind of ordeal.
Contact CM right away and explain why you left . Always get in first as these guys lie.....
03 December 2012 - 09:31 AMDETENTION FOR THREAT
As reported in SS Times 2.12.12
Sean Muir,42, has been given Home detention after threatening to fill his car with Urea Bombs and diesel and drive it into the Invercargill ACC building in an attempt to blow it up on Sept 11th.
He had been told a planned compensation payment was cancelled.
Invercargo\ill District Ciourt Judge, Kevin Phillips said ACC staff were only doing their job and did not deserve to be threatened.
Had he followed the rules he would maybe receiving compo had he reviewed it and given the staff respect.
This guy is finished now as ACC will disentitle him probably.
