some things to help you to keep you computer clean
For windows systems - free virus scanner = Windows Security Essentials

for cleaning temp files and caches use ccleaner

for internet browsing -
http://www.mozilla.o...-US/firefox/fx/
has many useful addons for customisation
most useful: NoScript = http://noscript.net/
train noscript for each site you use, at most temp allow some script on sites you do not know, otherwise let noscript always forbid loading scripts, flash elements and many types of website bugs - this is an essential tool some time learning this one will keep you confident and safer on the net than without it.

just always remember to virus scan before you shut down your computer for the day...
